Yep, that's what I'm waiting to hear about too ..... not that I'll be able to afford it whatever the Leica rrp is going to be set at.![]()
No, neither will I but it is good to have something to dream about. As a medium format contestant the glass seems fairly fast at (mainly) F2.5 and that should be a properly useable F2.5 too.Yep, that's what I'm waiting to hear about too ..... not that I'll be able to afford it whatever the Leica rrp is going to be set at.![]()
It has gone rather quiet on the Leica website I wonder if there is some delay as per the DMR?

Evening Peter. This thread from the LUF might be of interest - Jaap and Carl are members of that forum who attended a meeting hosted by Leica's Stefan Daniel, and texted back information received in an earlier thread.
The bad news which seemed to come out is that will be no R10 from Leica. Something described as a "good solution" is apparently on the way; said to be full frame, but with a cursed electronic viewfinder, which puts me off immediately. There's been much debate as to who will be the maker of such a creature.
Personally I would have loved it if Sony/Zeiss had bought some of the R designs (assuming any could be re-jigged for AF obviously) and maybe made a limited number of A900s with an R-mount to tempt users over. I doubt that'll happen sadly.

Good evening Tim, I have gone through the 'M' and 'R' discussions.
M seems healthy although possibly aimed at both 'starter' and 'FF' markets which would be a return almost to 'M' and 'CL' times.
'R' looks pretty well dead in the water - for the foreseeable future anyway. It would be surprising if they could persuade any other manufacturer to tool up for an 'R' body.
The 'adequate/good' solution seems very woolly indeed to me and unless I missed it an 'R' adaptor for the 'S' seems to be missing also.
