As per the subject line, I've just noticed that Yahoo had inserted itself onto my Firefox menu bar. So I've removed it.
It seems to have arrived with a recent update to AVG. (Or am I wrong?) I wonder where all this is leading.

AVG or another recently installed app is probably the cause. In future watch what the installer said!
A lot of vendors do this, by default all their software is installed (or other select companies apps). Apple are (or were, not really checked lately) bad for this. Quicktime would install iTunes if you didn't uncheck it. It now also attempts to install the Safari Web Browser.
