how to do microscope photography with Olympus 8080 or 58mm ring

Hi, I'd like to connect my Olympus 8080 (58mm thread) to a microscope.

How can I do this? I don't need professional level medical equipment. Something for hobbyists is fine.

Does Olympus sell anything? I couldn't find anything non-medical on their website.

Subject matter would be things like insects, leaves, flowers, metal screws, that sort of thing.

I agree, but the Olympus reps fully understand the needs of the "life sciences" and often there are special adaptors available for mounting Olympus cameras onto OLYMPUS microscopes. If you have a third party microscope then I think SRB are your best candidates. Send them an e-mail detailing your intended set up. From memory it cost about £500 to get an adaptor to mount a Canon dSLR on a Olympus trinocular head. I suspect an adaptor for fitting the compact to the eyepiece will be considerably cheeper!

Not per se....you can get a special Kryton style head adaptor fitted....

Very useful for recording what you are looking at without having to change your set up mid job. Saves a lot of frustration.
