    Kenko Filters?

    Hello,

I have just ordered a couple of Kenko UV filters to attach to two of my lenses. Has anyone used this make of filter before?

Do they affect the image quality?

    Best Regards,

Stand by for yet another debate about whether you should use filters for lens protection...

As far as the actual brand goes I doubt they are likely to be significantly inferior to other brands in the same price range.

Shouldn't you have asked this before you ordered?

You might want to look at this thread

    and this link:

There is one KENKO filter tested.

BTW: the link in the thread didn't seem to work today, so I found the link above, which seems to

Shortcut to my take on both sides of the debate here.

As mentioned by someone else, Kenko are Hoya.

    Re: Kenko Filters?

Thanks for the responses and for the very informative Pro's & Con's of using such a filter.

I suppose I should have asked the question before buying the filters. Sometimes I just buy something then think should I have bought that

I recently sold a few of my unwanted items and had some spare cash in my paypal account. So I bought a 90mm Macro lens and a Gossen Light Meter with the proceeds of selling my equipment and thought it would be a good idea to buy a new filter for the lens.

Next time I have an enquiry I'll post a message here first.

    Thanks again,
