    Firmware update

Have just updated my 5D2 to the latest version of the firmware. And the camera still works! Breathes sigh of relief.

I updated my 40Ds and found the experience nerve-wracking. I cleaned one of the sensors yesterday and I've had to take today off to recover.

Haha...these tasks always worry me slightly. But I find that a swig from the whisk(e)y bottle helps!

Well I didn't have the whisky but I did have some nervous moments. Daft to do it really since I doubt that I will ever use the video capability.

Gawd...You've bought a 5DII and not shot any cine with it? I thought cine was the whole purpose of the 5DII (According to some forums I post on)
    Dave

PS I was going to ask how you found it for cine work, but I guess there's no point

    Re: Firmware update

Well I gather from what Press photgrapher, James Vellacott, wrote in this weeks AP that the quality of the video from the 5D2 is 'unbelievable' and of 'cinema quality' but I bought the camera as a natural progression from Canon cameras from an AE1 through to a 30D. If ageing eyesight had not dictated a brighter viewfinder then I would have stuck with the 30D which I found a great camera. I regret video was never a consideration for me but then I would never critisize those who find it a useful addition to a still camera. John

Have just updated my 5D2 to the latest version of the firmware.
    Would that be v1.0.7?

    A quickie - ever experienced 'Err 20'?

No, it was version 1.1.0 which I believe is the second update but does include the code from the earlier version (cures for black spots etc.) 'Touch wood' I have never seen any error codes on the camera yet. - John
