F/3.2? Think I'll pass! Presumably that's at the wide and it'll be the best part of a stop slower by the time it's zoomed into a standard focal length. Sounds fine for holiday scenery though.

A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
I think the wide angle end of a "superzoom" is far more important than the telephoto end. A compact or bridge with a range of say 15-200 (in 35mm terms) would be perfect. But I suppose we'll have to wait a while before superzoom lens technology will go that wide.

Assuming, of course, that the performance was at least acceptable, and that it wasn't almost as slow as a pinhole camera at the tele end.A compact or bridge with a range of say 15-200 (in 35mm terms) would be perfect.
The marketeers have been playing the "numbers game" with the tele end equivalent focal length, Joe Public just doesn't see past the size of the numbers.
