Pentax K mount lens adapter enquiry?

    Hello,

Could someone advise if there are any Pentax PK lens mount adapters available that allow a Minolta Lens to be attached to a Pentax SLR?

The reason I ask is that a work collegue of mine has a Pentax K100D and was wondering if he could get an adapter to mount his extensive range of Minolta AF lenses to his K100D.

    Best Regards,

Even if such a thing existed. it wouldn't work, as the Minolta AF lenses have electornically-controlled apertures.

Wonder why he bought a K100D when he has a collection of Minolta AF lenses? If he gets a Sony a200 body (they're quite cheap) he can use all those lenses

Because I sold him my Pentax K100D!

The K100D was my first DSLR, and I wanted a K10D but couldn't afford it without selling the K100D and kit lens.

He was impressed with the results I obtained on the K100D so I offered him the K100D Body with the Kit Lens plus batteries and a 1GB SD card for £150.00. He took me up on the offer, so I went out and bought a secondhand K10D and I have since built up a collection of lenses.

I have just given him a Pentax PK-A 35-80mm Lens and a set of Vivitar Extesnion Tubes (for FREE), so he can have a play at Macro Photography. These were surplus to my requirements since my Tamron 90mm SP f/2.5 Macro Lens arrived this morning!

I asked him this morning if he had sold his Minolta equipment and he said no, not yet. It was only then that he wondered if his Minolta AF lenses would fit his K100D.

Well he got a good bargain!

If he decides to sell the Minolta AF lenses they are fetching very good prices since the proliferation of Sony bodies. Depending what he has he could be very pleasantly surprised at what they will fetch.

I know he has a VERY nice Sigma lens, I ran a sample roll of film through a Minolta 800si and tried a few of his lenses and the photos taken when that lens was attached was amazing compared to some of the other lenses.
