    Sony Cybershot Dsc-T77 Touchscreen Fault

    Hello there
I have joined in order to ask a question on behalf of a friend .....

She has a Sony Cybershot DSC-T77, bought in the New Year. About a month ago she realised that a small mark had appeared on the touchscreen - top right hand corner, which is always been touched to OK an action. This camera has (in her own words) "been cosseted" and I can vouch for that :-) Unlike me, she does have experience of touchscreens and has not abused them/has had no problems with other items.

Has anyone else has a similar problem please?? Her Sony shop have taken the camera in for assessment but it's been three weeks now and they are not being very helpful.

Maybe helpful in a negative way.

I have the same camera and have had it for about 6 months. It's been all over the far east and UK and I'm not very careful.

Your post caused me to look carefully at the touch screen and I see a rectangular array of about a dozen 'dots' at centre right of the screen. They are not in a frequently used area of the screen and they don't seem to affect the operation of the camera. In fact I hadn't noticed them until now.

Hello, from what I have heard from my friend, 'her' problem area is frequently used as it's always used to OK/confirm an action!? This area has become sluggish so it is affecting the operation somewhat. I'll pass on what you have told me. Many thanks Heather

Hi I have a T9 in the manual it says if the screen dosn't react properly it needs to be resett. Maybe that would solve the problem of being sluggish?
