    C.Lens - Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG MACRO Sony Fit

Today I took delivery of the above.

It has come with carry case, petal lens hood and both front and rear lens caps.

I've yet to try it out fully, but the couple of trial shots I have taken, indicate that it is smooth, easily manageable and comfortable to hold. The lens hood can also be reversed and fitted to the lens.

The build quality looks and feels good as well.

The only downside so far, is that the lens hood can be a bit stiff in putting on and taking off, though this may be due to the newness.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has compared it to either the Sony, Tamron or Tokina equivalents (if they exist), or have experience of this lens (the reviews are very good).

I will post pictures in the exhibition lounge when available.
FRIPN. Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Is it this model? Or the much dearer HSM one?

That's the same one I have - not done much with it yet but what I have look promising.

Went out for a wander round Dawlish this evening and tried out the lens using my A350, on varying subjects and focal lengths (see post in Appraisal).

I like it. It isn't that heavy (didn't feel like a millstone round my neck), focusses quickly and the pics, IMHO, are good.

Meant to take similar pics using my Minolta F2.8 28mm prime as a comparison, but may do that another day.

Here is one that is also in the Appraisal:

I got the Canon version of this lens today - so far quite pleased with it

I posted some of my first pics in the Appraisal Gallery earlier.

Hood was a bit fiddly the first couple of times but seems fine now.
