    New Alpha's anything new ?

I've watched the video and to be honest am a little disappointed at the new line up, the lenses are the highlight for me.

Without seeing any finer detail/specs all they appear to be are "pretty" versions of already excellent camera's, having recently seen the new HX1 with it's panorama mode etc I was expecting the usual Sony level of gadgetry with the new Alpha's, as well as the full spec, I'd be interested to know if Sony have improved the noise issue.

Anybody with an idea of how much the lenses (50mm f1.8, new kit lens & 55-200) will be retailing at ?.

Best explanation I've seen is here.. The new bodies are clearly aimed at people making the transition from PS and bridge type cameras to dSLRs. The new lenses are all DT (APS-C) and not suitable for FF - again aimed at the "entry level" users.

Thanks Rog, as I thought more of a pretty camera to accomodate & entice new d-slr owners, rather than to upgrade to, which is a pity given that Sony could've been more aggressive going for the big two by loading it with Sony Tech, instead they appear to have a less powerful flash & slower burst rate etc.

Wot of the A500 and replacement for the A700 ?.

There will be some more interesting cameras (to us) along later in the year. The bread and butter and profits of any camera maker comes from their entry level cameras of which thousands are sold for every top of the range model.

Meanwhile the a900 does all I want so I'm not in line to buy for a long while yet.
