Powershot compacts - a new use for the W/A & T/C mounting sleeve!

Don't know if anyone else has tried this with the models that will take the W/A & T/C mounting adaptor sleeves with 52mm or 58mm filter threads on the outer ends, but they are very useful for just fitting lens hoods and also for mounting filters - been using a 58mm circular polariser on my A720 IS, and - with a collapsible hood on the end - it is very easy to make a substantial difference to the image (e.g. with clouds on very bright days!)

OTOH, if you have already tried this, then you know all about it!

BTW, now have both the Canon WC 58 W/A converter and the 58mm Digital King W/A converter which can be mounted on the adaptor sleeve - and the Digital King is rubbish by comparison (major loss of definition!).

A mate of mine has been using a filter for IR pics on his too. Not sure I'm fussed for that at the moment but it looks like a pretty neat way to get filters on some compacts
