    New AF-confirm chips

    It seems as though the very latest AF confirm chips now have some extra features as listed here. I have two of the earlier types and as mentioned elsewhere find them useful when using "foreign" lenses on my Eos bodies. The new ability to add Focus position MicroAdjust seems too good to be true!

    It seems some Canon lenses have some new features too...

    From the link:
    Every Canon lens has a flash ROM chip and a table of AF adjustments....
    ....suspect he means every Canon EF lens but there's lots of manual focus Canon lenses old and new that I wouldn't expect to have that. Would these new (or even the old) chips work with the likes of the MP-E or maybe the AF side of things would just be irrelevant? Not that I need focus confirm on it....yet Then again how useful is focus confirm likely to be at f/16!
