    Bargain of the year

Picked up a Pentax D-BG2 battery grip from Jessops over the weekend for £36 new - if you can still find a store with one it's also in their 20% off sale

I have one on order at £44.97p but nothing listed about the 20% off on the website. Where did you see it advertised?

    Re: Bargain of the year

The sale wasn't advertised, I simply called the store at Lakeside (Essex) and after I realised they had one, then when I asked the guy to reserve it for me he told me the price was £44.97 and told me they were having a sale so there was an extra 20% off; no complaints from me here !

Got to the store and there was no sign of a sale but I still got 20% off

    Re: Bargain of the year

I have phoned the store and they do not know of any sale on this item. Sales are normally accross the group not isolated to one store I was told, but this could have been a 'Manager's Special' possibly?

I do get a small additional discount through a local arrangement with my Photographic Club though.

    'Managers special?'
Sorry, no mention of it being a managers special, simply said was in their sale, come to think of it there were no sale signs up

For £36, you'd expect the body as well right

    Re: Bargain of the year

Well, I too have had a result. I went to Jessops in Norwich today to collect the grip. Price on the box said £49.97 overlaid with a reduced to £44.97 sticker. I mentioned that I had a pal who had been sold one at Lakesifde for less and asked what could be done.

The sales guy checked with the manager and because of my club membership card, they agreed to meet the price. I got it for £35.98p, quite a good result.

They also threw in a battery, a K10D body and two zoom lenses!
