    CZ 16-35

Drat, it was my own fault for not heeding the warnings. I'd been putting off my last big purchase, the CZ 16-35, until I could really justify it. This morning the price of £1,100.00 I'd been watching went up by £150.00. I found it at £1,150.00 elsewhere and managed to persuade myself that it just wouldn't be sensible to risk being caught again. I hope it comes alright.

That's it for the time being but the fisheye and 500mm cat look interesting . Sensible mode, the knees aren't up to the extra weight.

I almost got caught out with the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 but just got in before it shot up 40%. It's still a third of the price of the Zeiss though and performance is really very similar.

I have the 500mm f8 mirror lens and can highly recommend it - provided you watch the highlights ... unless of course you're fond of doughnuts

Here is the cheapest I've found so far.

I bought my Sigma 24-70 for £269 in October last year, although it did turn out to be a grey import.

    A month or so back I paid £287 for a Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 from Warehouse Express ... they now want £428.99 !!!

Checked with Stone Audio 0845 126 0500 http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/ and the lens is shipping to me on Thursday so everything crossed. New firm to me so may be useful to others.

They were the cheapest I could find for the Sony F2.8 70-200mm lens (Sigma equivalent is still about £400 cheaper though).

I think the Sony price rise is here, I see A900 has gone up from £1650-£1699 to £1899 at most places on the web this week, be interesting to see whats in AP this week in the ads.

I am also "eyeing" up the fisheye, but WEX went up almost £100 this last week so on hold again now

It has arrived! I've got a wide angle job for it so if I can steal myself to use it before fitting a UV (usual reaction from Nick ) it can start earning its keep.
