    Bought my VG-C70AM on Amazon...

...on Thursday night, got it today! And for £195 inc p&p. Now it feels so much familiar to me (my 7D was never without the grip) and yes I agree ( it is a known fact anyway) that grip is very high quality, I'm impressed. In fact, my desktop wallpaper is now my A700 next to my 7D...I know, I'm that freaky about cameras...

When I had the a700 I found the vertical grip transformed the handling of the camera. Not just for portrait orientation shots but all round better balance and especially with long/heavy lenses.

I have yet to afford one for my current a900 but will get one soon I hope

You and me both Rog, have got to admit that I do miss the grip, which I have had on every Minolta/Konica Minolta SLR/DSLR since I got my Dynax 600Si a good few years ago.

So how do we petition Amazon to get grips for the 900 in stock and reduce the price down to the one for the 700

...since we're petitioning, can we petition for A900's for £195?

    Luis,

My friend you are welcome to try , the best you might get is a £195 price drop from the recent price increase

Can you get vertical grips for A100 and A350?
FRIPN. Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

No and yes - genuine Sony that is - the VG-C30AM fits a200, a300 and a350.

Sony never did make one for the a100 but there are some Chinese ones - they're not the same quality.

Re: Bought my VG-C70AM on Amazon...

I was lucky enough to get my VG-B30AM Battery grip back for less than £100 in January (cash back offer), as Roger says; Sony did'nt do a battery grip for the A100, only third party grips are available and personally I would'nt touch one with a barge pole, The VG-B30AM will however sit happily on the A200-A350, I'm so happy with mine that it's fitted all the time to my A300, apart from looking like a far more expensive camera, the ergonomics are excellent and enable you to take far control when taking portraits, the only downside I've come across is when using the onboard flash (you forget the camera's on it's side and don't get an evenly lit subject), thank heavens for Sony's other handy device; Wireless Flash (F36AM).

I just wish battery prices were'nt so expensive(I'd love to add the 2nd battery).

If you shoot a lot of portraits a Battery Grip should be very high on your list of things to buy.

What's the difference between the VG-B30AM and the VG-C30AM?

Re: Bought my VG-C70AM on Amazon...

I wasn't even aware there were two - and I still don't understand as they are both listed as fitting a200/300/350

These images were on web sites and listed as I've labelled them and supposed to be for the a200/300/350 range.

However, they are very different ... I think there is some big mistake here and the VG-C30AM has been mixed up with the VG-C70AM for the a700. I don't think the VG-C30AM actually exists ...

Or £195 for some dust an A900 shook off the sensor on startup.

But the A700 with a grip is definately a totally different shooting experience. I am loving it. I only have one battery though...
