Camera Fair, Beaconsfield - this Sunday (May 3rd)

Those AP subscribers who received the magazine today and have read the article about cameras fairs will be interested to know that the Beaconsfield camera fair takes place this Sunday (May 3rd) at the following venue:

    Beaconsfield School
    Wattleton Road
    Beaconsfield
    Bucks. HP9 1SJ

This is always a busy fair with a large selection of collectable cameras, modern film cameras, digital SLRs, lenses etc. Most vendors are willing to haggle over the price, some accept credit cards and many will be happy to accept part-exchanges or buy your equipment outright. Parking is free and drinks & snacks are available.

Early Bird entrance is £4.00 from 9.15am; the official start time is 10.30am (£2.00 entrance). Although the organisers give 2.30pm as the finish time, I would suggest arriving before noon at the latest.

Further details from the organiser: Peter Levinson Tel. 020 8205 1518

The next advertised date for a fair at this venue is September 13th. (Please confirm the date with the organiser nearer the time).

Re: Camera Fair, Beaconsfield - this Sunday (May 3rd)

As you predicted it seemed to be a busy fair with lots on offer, and to me, it seemed quite a bit more than what was offered at Potters Bar two weeks ago.

So, what did I buy? A strip of AG13 cells, and a Vickers M10A Polarising Microscope with built-in illumination, 3 objectives, and two eyepieces. The microscope took me some time to get adjusted for good polarised light extinction in its default position, but it now is, and the extinction is excellent. All I need now are some samples of optically active materials such as tartaric or citric acid.

Makes a change from adding yet more cameras to my collections.
