    Nikon D750 and D400

Thought you might like to see / comment on this , I have to say the D750 is very interesting if it has autofocus for video.

If they are not real, i expect the specifications are not too far off what new releases will have.

Factor in a computer upgrade, high capacity cards plus upgradeing your DX lenses for FX equilivents, and the D750 could be a very expensive upgrade IMVHO

already have mainly FX glass (for F5) so may need to budget in new PC - at the momment the cost of camera would be prohibative, but one can dream.

I quite like the basic specification of the D750 but I have a feeling I would just turn the screen to face the camera and leave it that way. That said I neither need nor want video, live view or an articulated screen. However if the launch of the D750 brings the D700 price down it may be a good thing, though even the D700 has that, for me, deeply unnecessary built in flash.

The built in flash is always going to divide people.
It's saving grace is that it is a commander unit, so my SB600s can sit off camera and have full iTTL control.
Live view isn't particularly important in itself, but as I use the camera on an extended boom arm sometimes, the live view comes into it's own when using camera control pro 2 - I can use a netbook to control the system without having to be on top of it.
Video is pointless unless it is full video. Most of the SLRs I've seen with video can't focus or zoom whilst exposing - what is the point of that?!
Don't expect any 750/800 to drop the price of the 700. It would be nice, but it ain't going to happen - look at the D3/D3x prices for your guidelines
The worst battle cry I ever heard - "Look out! He's got a bigger camera!"

Mostly as a result of the depreciation of the pound against the yen, the D3 actually costs more than it did before the D3x came along.
