    D70S problem

    can anyone help, my d70s just wont turn off, only way is to remove battery, any ideas?

    There is a hidden reset button on the bottom of the camera just under the USB connection.
    Not sure exactly what the extent of the "reset" will be though....I've never used it.
    Does the picture turn out differently than what you see in the viewfinder?

    The only thing you could do is try all/both "reset" options available on the camera. If they don't work then your switch is the culprit....sad to say.
    Having said that....I've left my D70 "on" for days at a time(by mistake) and I still had plenty of battery life left. I really don't think much battery is used when it is powered on and idle.
    Does the picture turn out differently than what you see in the viewfinder?

    looks like its had it then, just turned down a nice one that was being sold with a lens i bought

    I wouldn't worry too much. As long as the light meter isn't active the camera uses (almost) no more power than it would if it was turned off. As long as the shutter release button doesn't get pressed whilst the camera is stored (i.e. in a gadget bag) then the battery will last.
