Hi just upgraded my Minolta 7xi for an A200 and wondered if the flash will work or what damage may occur, or are all 3rd party accessories accepted? thanks, awaiting replies with baited breath and camera at ready

The only flashes which work correctly with Sony and Minolta dSLRs are listed here. Plus there are a few third party guns from Sigma and others. Digital SLR cameras cannot use the old film based methods of exposure measurement.
thanks Rog looks like a new flash is required which will not please `er indoors but never mind can`t be helped
Does anyone know if I can use the hot-shoe adapter YN-H3 and a Phoenix D92-BZS on a Sony A200?
I contacted the retailer of the adapter and they said it was alright but I have no proof.
I have seen the flash listed as compatible with the camera (not sure where).
Looking at the specs. it would seem the Phoenix D92-BZS is intended to work as a slave flash which fires when the pop-up flash fires. I would think exposure control to be very hit and miss. If you get the adapter for the Sony flash shoe it would probably be better to get an ordinary auto flashgun with it's own exposure control. There are a great number on the market both new and second-hand. The Vivitar 283 is a classic example. BUT best of all keep putting the pennies away until you can afford a Minolta or Sony digital gun![]()
