K20 firmware V1.03 update available

Don't forget to fully charge your battery. Also when the update is complete,the disk write light flashes. The instructions don't mention this and it has alarmed one or two owners.

Some say the AF seems quicker... I don't see it myself. The update is for the SR and supposidly makes it act quicker.

Did you try the new firmware, and if so, did you notice any difference?

I updated this evening, I can't help feeling that the AF now achieves lock in low light conditions with slightly less hunting than before.

I only looked at other forums to see what other users were saying after I tried out the new firmware, so I wasn't influenced by others - who also seem to be reporting similar effects in low light. (However there's a lot of bull being circulated - someone even claiming that the screwdriver drive motor spins faster now !!)

It would be interesting to know what happened to 1.02

I have the impression that my kit lenses (18-55 mk2 and 55-300) focus faster but it makes no difference to my SDM/HSMs (DA*50-135 and Sigma 150-500).

1.02 was up briefly according to some posts but was then replaced by 1.03.

I don't see any faster focusing (I did various tests before updating) but the SR has improved and is similar to my old K10D now....
