I think I should say this...

Full marks to Olympus for the E-620. Assuming the quality is up to scratch (and I see no reason why it shouldn't be), it looks to me like the DSLR range is finally looking sensible and well-placed to make the most of 4/3. The E-30 appears to be a sensible high-end enthusiasts camera, and the 620 looks to give something very similar but in a compact body harking back to the glory days of the OM range. I've been critical of the apparent lack of direction of the E series since it was launched, but it now seems to me that Olympus are putting together a logical range with alightly larger and slightly smaller choices for everyone, with the right balance of features. Now roll on that micro 4/3 camera!

Particularly if it looks like the prototype.

I'll even settle for that - I'm sure this lot could knock me up a custom alternative.

I've been using the E-30 for a couple of weeks now and can say that if the image quality of the E-620 is the same there are going to be some happy people about, and if the same quality makes it into Oly's MFT I'll be ecstatic.
Keep on snapping and catch the moment if you can.

Barney Britton had a "first look" on the E620 in this weeks AP and seems pleased with the progress Olympus is making with this new model. It seems to pack a lot into a small package. Four different aspect ratios when in live view is one feature which appeals to me. Look forward to the forthcoming test.

Just come back from 6 weeks in Oz ( Victoria and Tasmania) with E3 and happy with results and performance.

Yeah, that's what reminded me I hadn't praised Olympus for doing what I said they should do.

Just to keep the Oly pot boiling, the first mFT Oly camera will apparently be launched in June. Pre-production model due to go on show in Japan shortly. What's it going to be like? Well let's just say that it's also the 50th anniversary of the Oly Pen camera this year

A m4/3rds pen would be fantastic and I suspect a marketing triumph!
    Thanks
