Well Rog, the sample Jpegs I took on the Demo in Jessops using my 17 - 35 f/2.8 - 4 were 16 Mbit and 17.6 Mbit respectively, and I think Frank has it
got to admit, really looking forward to trying out some of my supposedly good glass on it, just to see how good they actually are. The downside is I might run out of HD space faster than planned![]()
Great stuff RonYou'll probably discover some lenses aren't so good - I did - but many are. The lenses I've found excellent with the large sensor include ...
Sony 100mm macro
Sony 70-300mm SSM G
Sony 500mm reflex
Minolta 35-200mm xi (surprise)
Minolta 28-105mm (surprise)
Sigma 24-70mm f2.8
... I've yet to find a really wide angle.
Hard disks are cheap![]()
Well I've got this lot to try out :-
24mm f/2.8
50mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.4GD
135mm STF f/2.8 T4.5
17-35 f/2.8-4D
28-75 f/2.8-D
24-105 D
35-70 f/4
70-210/4
300/4G
and Sigma 28-300
I know that wide open the 17-35 performs quite well on the shots I took with the demo version which was not set up in any way by me. I'd reckon that stopped down a couple of stops, the results would be even more impressive. The lens I'm not even going to try is the Sigma it's not that brilliant on 6 Mega Pixels, so 24.6 will just make it look really bad.
You of course are right HD's in comparison to FF DSLR's are cheap, but need to pay off the plastic first

Agree with the 70-300G and also find the 24-70CZ OK. The 16-35CZ is on my wish list.
Enjoy.

Ok!....That was an hour ago! What's happening?
It's set up, (well basically) once I have read the manual and worked out some of the settingsI might be getting somewhere, just about to install the software on the PC. Next is going out and 'playing' with it along with my collection of lenses to see what it will do
