Hi all, my wife has recently purchased the panasonis FZ28 after getting some helpfull advice on here thanks again.
I have been borrowing the camera off her and have become quite attached to it
I am a newbie to all this but have been getting some fantastic results with this camera. In auto mode it is really easy to use and i have been experimenting with all the different scene modes and having a lot of fun with the amount of available options that i can find. I am trying to be creative and experiment as much as i can to learn what effects different settings can achieve.
After doing a fair bit of reading i am now at a stage where i would like to try and get to grips with Full manual control. This is where i am a little confused.
I have read an article in practical photography aimed at beginners but using a dslr.
Can anyone tell me if on this bridge camera i can take control of Aperture, Shutter speed and iso settings all from the "M" manual setting on the camera ?
I am also confused with the fact that in this particular article it states with a nikon 12-24mm lens an aperture of f/16 for lots of foreground interest and f/11 if using a telephoto lens would be a good starting place ???
The panasonis only has an aperture of 2.8 - 8.0 is this correct ? and does that relate to a DSLR Camera ?
If anyone could explain this in laymans terms for a novice that would be cool.
I still have lots to learn but am enjoying this process. I cant help thinking a DSLR would be a better choice for someone like myself but im sure there is still lots i can learn from borrowing my wifes fz28 at the moment.
