    Layer Mask Brush Opacity

I have been trying to create an image that conveys movement by showing a blurred trail behind the subject, but the subject remaining sharp. I have all but given up with trying to achieve this in camera so have resorted to overlaying five seperate images. I am bleeding each image through using a layer mask and the brush tool, one image at a time. However as the image gets flattened and another image is layed over the top, the previous "bled through" detail becomes increasingly more pale and wishy-washey. Are their any tried and tested brush opacities or even a way of doing this that I don't know of? All help and suggestions gratefully received

I tried that previously if Im thinking of what I think you mean. You need to change the opacity of the layer to 100 over layer number

eg with 5 layers the bottom layer will be 100%, then:
    Layer 2 100/2 = 50%
    Layer 3 100/3 = 33%
    Layer 4 100/4 = 25%
    Layer 5 100/5 = 20%

    etc...

    Then flatten at the end.
