Do anyone know any good, Photogenic spot's in or around Preston?

The one's I know of in the town centre are:

- Harris Museum
- Around Peace Gardens (The statue of the Soldiers and Protestors)
- Top Of the Bus Station
- Top of the Market

Any other suggestions will be appreciated,

The dock area is good (see my 1st view for March)
River Ribble just off London Road south of Preston is fab for sunlight in the afternoon (I have not taken photos there but see it on my way home from work)

Thanks for the information. I haven't yet been to the Docks even though I live about 10 minutes away.
Is the London Road spot you were talking about near the Capital Centre?

Hi Ben
Not as far as the capitol centre, you can't miss the bridge its at the bottom of London Rd hill by the Shawes Arms.

Much the same as any other non descript former industrial town.
Town centre has impresive town hall, market hall and fish market.
The parks adjoining the river have good possibilities.
Plenty of post industrial grot.
Views from top of St Georges muti storey car park.
Coast isn't far - Lytham to Silverdale.
West Pennine Moors a few miles east - bus to Withnell/Abbey Village/Chorley
Bowland Fells afew miles NE - Beacon Fell/Trough of Bowland/Chipping.

Aaah I know where you mean.
I was walking back to Lostock from Deepdale that way. I've seen quite a few nice sunset's and such reflecting off the River ribble there.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention

Another vote for Bowland, turn right at Broughton, and you're there in ten mins or so. Head for the big hill in front of you, that's Parlick, and there's often paragliders jumping off the top of the fells there. The market's good for street stuff, Church Street for urban decay. Docks as mentioned earlier, especially magical at dusk. There's Avenham Park too, and Moor Park with the observatory. Cobbled streets and terraced houses such as those around Frenchwood and Deepdale look wonderful in late evening sunlight. There's also lots of modern architecture such as the SU building if that's your thing too.

Stone me... there's some names that bring back memories. I was a student in digs on Deepdale Road, a stones throw from Moor Park and the footie ground....

Can't say I really remember the Deepdale terraces as being photogenic........ but then I wasn't a 'tog in those days......

Used to live around Deepdale a few years back, the terraces always looked beautiful to me after a long day at work

It's one of those places you bypass on the way to the Lakes.
