Keep the content fresh, regular updates. As for presentation, there's not much you can do with an off-the-shelf package like Blogspot, etc.... would appreciate any advice

Thanks for the advice, because i have just started photography, I mostly used a blog just to see what experienced photographers think of my photos, and then I'd attempt to make my own portfolio site.
For feedback on your photographs have a go at posting some in the Appraisal Gallery further down the forum.
