Moan of the day: glued-in transparencies

    [whinge]

Why oh why does/did Fuji feel the need to glue the transparencies into the mount? I'm just going through the process of glass-mounting some five year old slides and that brain-numbingly tedious job is being made a million times worse by my having to tear the transparency off the dark half of the mount without totally destroying it. Not impressed.

No idea if they still do it: it'll be a while before I catch up with myself. The amount of time I need to mount approx 100 slides has just doubled at least. Thanks a lot, Fuji!

Have you mentioned this on Fuji's 'Love Film' website? You might get a groundswell of sympathy (enough to make Fuji rethink how they mount slides?). Good luck!

glad I've not been holding my breath: seven days since I posted my question on Fuji's own "Choose film" forum, specifically in the "ask Fuji a question" section. No reply.

The problem for Fuji, whoever is doing their processing now, is that the glue-in mounts are made for particular mounting equipment. You wouldn't be asking them to just switch mounts but change all their equipment too £££££. The only chance of a change will be if, when they get around to changing machines that they go for non-glue mounts. In the meantime you may just have o try a different lab
Those mounts are a pain though!

...and their complete inability to respond or even acknowledge mine and others questions on their own forum after 3+ months, smacks of a serious "we don't give a sh*t' attitude
