Its a wonderful first entry and ought to feature on judgement day, but why oh why did you not get mousy to say,
'C H E E S E!', Colin. Missed opportunity, eh?

That's all very well but what does Ken Rockwell have to say on the matter?

Re: That were good!

It was roast beef, Yorky pud and veg, but I decided it looked too good to faff around with a camera while it got cold, sorry and all that.
Cheers MIKE

But last month you were complaining images did not fit the brief - now it's OK?

Au contraire, this one most certainly fits the brief and is vastly more interesting than a predictable shot of a sunday roast or whatever.

It's interesting how many newbies are posting in the competition (and with their first posts too) these days.

The cynic in me might get suspicious of this...I wonder how many of these people will stick around in the forum after the competition...

Mmm...
Shoot something to eat in a way we can taste it through our eyeballs. Use colour for taste, backlighting for texture, glistening for stickiness, steam for heat - and your imagination.
Not in my book it don't

However, like I say, people can post what they like AFAIC

Ahhhh but the imagination. That title with that photo says it all to me, I can "can taste it through my eyeballs"

Not a bit of it! Indeed you may have inspired an entirely new dish: "Stone-baked mutton". Kindly reserve me the slice nearest the stone.

Mods, looks like my pic host server has fallen over, if it don't come back in a day or two I'll have to find another.

Cheers MIKE.

Hellooo

I shall admit that I found this forum through searching for Competitions to enter. As you've highlighted I'm sure many people do. I have however been suckered in to reading the daily banter and adding the occassional remark here and there. You all seem like nice people and it's interesting to hear what you've all got to say, so I hope I haven't appeared rude by posting a comp entry immediately. It's just a bit of fun to me

I would like to say that KBJokerZ (sorry if I spelt the name wrong) Cabbage, reminded me instantly of Edward Westons Pepper images, mainly through texture. I like this one.

As for that strawberry cake! That should be in my mouth!

Maybe I will make one for you if you win the competition

Just like Lady P I found the monthly competition when I was googling. I haven't had time to check out the other topics yet but it is the first forum I have found reg photography so I am sure I will be back!
