Probably....... though I imagine the latest multi-megapixel medium format cameras are probably already generating files big enough to challenge even this sort of capacity. No wonder they're normally used tethered!

Not to mention HD video....Probably....... though I imagine the latest multi-megapixel medium format cameras are probably already generating files big enough to challenge even this sort of capacity.
If you're not living on the edge, you're wasting space
some of the hasselblads chuck out 150MB files, so imagine what something like the new RED cameras (if they eventually happen) will be like.
I also recall a wide format camera last year at something like 150MPixels, so imagine that file size.
The worst battle cry I ever heard - "Look out! He's got a bigger camera!"

I've got an 8GB card sitting in my back, which will hold 179 RAW files of approx 43-50MB each. A couple of those would easily do me for a day with plenty of space over I reckon (someone shooting professionally in a studio might require a great deal more, though a laptop with a 250GB drive will be sufficient for literally thousands of files.Probably....... though I imagine the latest multi-megapixel medium format cameras are probably already generating files big enough to challenge even this sort of capacity.
When fully expanded on a computer, yes. In their native RAW state, they'll be a third of that approximately.some of the hasselblads chuck out 150MB files

If I had all the money I've spent on drink, I'd spend it on drink
When I think how big a 4800 samples per inch scan of a 35mm slide saved as a TIFF, never mind a 3200 spi scan of 6x7 I'm always grateful of the tiny size of digitally captured files in comparison...
It's not that long ago that I was fixing 30mb SMD drives that took two people to lift. The 80mb drive was mounted on a trolley.
PS - I think that the first "Winchester" drives we got in were 10mb and about half that had to be bad tracked so they ended up as maybe 5mb. Happy days.
Alan's defence lawyer claimed that "Booze played no part in his typo's."
Not too sure if I would need cards that big, as I never shoot RAW, but always choose to use the best Jpeg settings, with a bit of DRO in the mix if needed to lift details in shadows etc.
My 4gb cards are plenty big enough as I dont want to put all my eggs in one basket as it were........![]()
well if that is not big enough - how about 2 terra byte

ready for the video revolution? 2TB is bigger than most peoples home computer!

THey've got a 50Mpixel machine out now, and phase-one have a 60Mpixel
There's a wide format machine somewhere chucking out 160MB compressed files...can't remember where (saw it in one of the pro mags last year I think)
