    RE Bronica "Timed Exposure"

I may be having a lazy moment, but wondered if someone could explain what a timed exposure is. Is there any difference between an exposure made with a shutter speed set at 'bulb'?

I have read the instruction booklet and whilst it explains how to take a timed exposure, it does not elaborate on why or what such an exposure might be used for. I have had the camera a few years and should have enquired way back but I was happy to use the camera, no doubt it will be a facility that might have been handy.

Thanks and all the best for New Year

If you mean the camera has two shutter speed settings "T" and "B", with "T" the shuttter opens when the release is triggered and closes when it's triggered again. With "B" the shutter closed when the button is released. That's handy for shortish time exposures but your hand can get tired if you want to make exposures of an hour or two - or you may wish to go for a drink, to have a pee or whatever whilst the exposure continues.

A shutter release cable with a lock eliminates the need for a "T" setting. That's why few cameras have it these days.
If you're not living on the edge, you're wasting space
