Anyone used these cards?

The price seems too good to be true compared with Sandisk cards which are £15 for a 4MB card, but I have used Kingston before and been pleased with them.

I think you've mislaid ten binary zeros ....Sandisk cards which are £15 for a 4MB card
If you're not living on the edge, you're wasting space
Which SanDisk cards though? II, III or IV. It depends on your usage requirements. According to tests carried out by Michael Reichmann, the SanDisk IV cards will only perform at their maximum when coupled with the company's Extreme IV Card Reader. With another they're only slightly faster than the version III type. The price seems too good to be true compared with Sandisk cards

Sandisk Extreme III 4GB - £15 from Amazon or Play.

Useful answers would be more helpful than humorous pedantry.

I read in the Sunday Times today (when I could get the cat off it) about the appalling conditions in which the Amazon slaves have to work. It does keep the prices down however.
Don't upset beejaybee! He's a good person really and means no harm.
I am waiting until January before I buy anything. See my Flickr for a version of the flower you use as your avatar. I only learned that word recently and I still don't know what it means. I would love to have an avatar myself.

Peter, the speed of cards can vary from one camera to another, and also from one card reader to another when loading them onto your computer.
If you have a Canon, or Nikon DSLR or a Sony A900 then I'd suggest a look at the Rob Galbraith CF/SD Card Database. Check out also the section for readers.

As far as I know the Kingston cards are reliable. if they are considerably cheaper, then you have a bargain. The write speed from the camera may be a little slower, but in real world terms, I doubt you would notice much. Download time to the computer might also be longer, but what is a few minutes compared to saving money??
It is only as you grow older, that seconds matter so much.....![]()

I use the 4GB CF cards, got a few of them and I've never had a problem with any of them.
I've got a selection of Kingston cards in different speeds and capacities, and they've not let me down in the slightest.
They aren't on the list, but having said that, I'm not that bothered about speed, but reliability.

I have many Kingston cards and until recently they gave no problems in 300d,30D and 1D Mk3 until I bought two x 8gb as per the offer above. Strangely these cards work perfectly in the 30D ( the 300 has long since died) but don't in the 1D Mk3...they record the image, hold it for 2-3 mins and allows reviews etc then the images corrupt. Can be salvaged with recovery software. Probably a camera/card compatibility issue but a pain so if you are using a 1D Mk3 think first and go for 2x4 cards....these work. Cards were replaced but the same issue remain.

I bought a 16GB version of this CF card from My Memory about 3 weeks ago and I am pleased with it. They're also offering the 4GB and 8GB, and they offer free delivery with a lifetime warranty.
All I can say is I'm happy with it. Hope this somehow helps![]()

Oooh just added this bit after reading the previous post...that's a bit scary. I hope I don't experience that! It seems it's the newer cameras.
Please keep the main text of a message black so that people with poor eyesight can read it - thanks, mod
I was told that the manufacturing company who make cards for Sandisk also make the Kingston CF cards...... And the shop I was in at the time sell both!?
They may well be made in the same factory, but not necessarily to the same quality standards.I was told that the manufacturing company who make cards for Sandisk also make the Kingston CF cards...... And the shop I was in at the time sell both!?
