Oh well, at least I won't make the same mistake again - stuck the fixer in the tank first - lost the roll of Delta 400. I suppose it is better to make this sort of error now when I'm still fairly new to home B/W - it'll make me careful for the future.

doing something similar to your goodself inasmuch as mixing the chemicals up from c(fix) to a(dev) instead of a to c
and/or....doing it again with the next film......bu**er...

Falling asleep with a rack of about 12 rolls of colour film in the dev. I only dropped off for about two minutes, but it made them hell to print.
Spending aaaaaages dev'ing some pushed Delta 3200 only to for some BIZARRE reason TAKING THE LID OFF before I put the stop bath in
NOT a happy moron.

Reticulation ------ ice cold tap water for the wash, I am now very careful to bring the wash temperature down gradually.

Now when it comes to digital, forgot to bring memory card, forgot to change ISO from 800 to 100, forgot to charge battery, if you can forget it I have done so.
Can't say I've had any darkroom mistakes but I did see one poor girl load a spiral up in the darkroom as she believed using a safe light was OK and thought how easy it was after all she had heard about loading spirals..
Also some twonk decided to come into the darkroom once to use a paper cutter and switched all the lights on.. They were swiftly ejected!

Developing a roll of 120 with only enough dev for 35mm, just went into auto mode.I've tried to get film to reticulate but never managed it.
The best I managed was with some old glass plates - quarter-plate format. All was going well, despite the age of the plates, until I managed to wash the emulsion clean off at the end...
It was a while ago, 1980 /82 ish developing FP4 or PanF in ID11 or Ilfosol. I used to black out the bathroom in my parents' house to load the tank and then into the kitchen to process the film. It was a very old house and the mains water pipe into the house was less than a foot below ground, some times in winter the water used come out of the tap just above freezing point.I've tried to get film to reticulate but never managed it.
I now have all my old negs back, and will have a look for them but I probably threw that roll away.
Scratched a couple of 10x8 negs when tray-developing, but nothing much worse than that. I did once begin devving some roll-film in a tank with an improperly seated gasket, but that only resulted in a bit of dev splashed over the bench - fortunately no sign of light leaks.
I'm fairly disciplined about my darkroom routine, and that does tend to help avoid serious errors.
Reticulation is something I have heard about, but never seen. What effect does it have?
Good to see I'm not the only numpty though.
On more than one occasion when using PMK, forgetting part B when making up the solution, then findng completely clear negs at the end. On one occasion they were 10x8s, and I could see the measuring cylinder of part B sitting by the dev tray. Used some quite unprintable language when I realised what happened.
Worst mistake (so far) is forgetting to use stop when processing negs (though i've only been processing at home for about 6 months!). It didn't seem to have any short term effect - will it affect them in the long run?
