    Before I...

    blow some hard earned dosh on e-bay. Opinions please on best 35mm colour neg film [100asa] for portraits. studio and exterior shots.

    I've heard nothing but good reports on this..excellent for skin tones and I believe traditional wedding photographers [who still use film] swear by it.

    Used to use Fuji NPS 160 for its skin tones.

    Sounds like you want an all purpose film! Is the new Kodak Ektar available in the UK as yet; they are claiming that it has similar characteristics to slide film? Maybe a bit too robust for portraits however.

    Another vote for Kodak Portra 160. Great film. The NC version probably better for portraits and general use. The VC has more vivid colours.
