    Northern Ireland

Anyone know any great places to go in Northern Ireland for landscapes or nature? Having lived here all my life, I know the obvious, Tollymore, Antrim Glens, Giants Causeway, but it's the hidden gems that are best. I went to Clare Glen (near Tandragee) yesterday and got some amazing photo's of the small (2-3 foot) waterfalls and fallen leaves, so waterfalls I think are going to be a big thing in my upcoming photo's, they turn out so well.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated Thanks

The Back Castles on Slieve Binnian and the summit tor on Slieve Bearnagh with the right light and preferably a bit of snow on the ground there are surely some great images to be found. Some distance from the road, though. Kinbane Head near Ballycastle is pretty amazing, but hardly anyone seems to go there.

I think the snow would be great, when it snowed earlier last week I wanted to get up to Spelga Dam but wasn't able to go anywhere until Saturday so I figured the snow would be mostly away.

With the cold spell you will be surprised how long snow will stay in the mournes. Maybe not the coverage you are looking but you will find something.

The Sliabh League (sp?) sea cliffs in Donegal are rather dramatic.

Torr head is a classy spot, really rural and sweeping, its up north.

Oh let's see now. The Annslee Gardens in Castlewellan Forest Park, during Spring, Summer and Autumn, are wonderful. The Forest Park itself is pretty good too. Castle Ward down on the Ards Peninsula has fab gardens. Spend some time in Fermanagh if you can. There is a spot called The Forest Drive, you need to head from Enniskillen out to a village called Derrygonnelly (the Village and the Forest Drive are well sign-posted once you get to the Donegal side of Enniskillen).
You can drive up to a high escarpment which provides the most glorious views over Lower Lough Erne and its many islands. On a good day you have a view right down to Ballyshannon and on out to the Atlantic, and there are a number of walks which you can take into the surrounding countryside which provide some more wonderful viewpoints, over the Lough and back towards the Sillies Valley. I grew up there and of course I am biased, but if you get the right light, I can think of few finer views in Ireland.
