I have 3 lenses, there not mine. I think the lenses are for Minolta Film cameras (which theres 2 I have) and I am asking to see if they will work on a sony A200 DSLR camera?.

Lenses for Minolta AutoFocus cameras will fit Sony, but not those from earlier manual focus cameras. The Minolta AF cameras started with the 7000 & 5000 and continued through the Dynax (in Europe & UK) or Maxxum (in N America) models.
If they have 5 or 8 electrical contacts in the mount then they are AF. The only exception might be some of the earlier Sigma lenses for Minolta AF which are not compatible, unless they have an updated chip fitted by Sigma

Definitely *not* on Facebook or Twitter!
Nor sending from an iPhone or iPad!

Thanks, I won't bother just incase I screw the camera up!.
They are unlikely to screw the camera up. We need to know if its the older manual focus type (usually made of metal) and will have a manual aperture ring (a rotating ring aroung the mount end of the lens with numbers on it) or not.

If it doesn't have an aperture ring then it is more likely to be an autofocus lens, or at least a lens designed for minolta mount AF cameras.
The manual foucs lens will not mount on your dslr, the af lens will.
Its worth a try, as so long as you don't force anything it's unlikely you'll do any damage. The lens will either mount or it will not.
If it does mount and is an older thrid party AF lens then again, it will either work or will not. You are very unlikely to damage the camera.
If youpost the model of minolta body you are using, or tell us the information printed around the front element of the lens (usually Minolta Camera co, made in Japan etc with any digits and abrreviations) we will be able to tell you for sure.
Cheers

Would these lenses fit on a Sony DSLR:
Sigma 28-105MM - http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews384.html
A 70-300 mm lense with a vivitar cap but Jessops 62mm 1A on it
A Tamron 28-200mm lense.
Try this site (click here) for just about all lenses made for the Minolta/Sony Auto focus cameras.
The ones you quote might fit, we have no way of knowing from the limited information you have given, if you have seen them advertised, or maybe listed on Ebay then the type of mount should be listed in the decription, try reading the ad or listing a bit more closely, we are not psychic.
Sigma and Tamron both still make lenses to fit Sony: Vivitar and Tokina among others have in the past made lenses to fit Minolta AF cameras which have the same mount as the Sony DSLRs, look for the words "to fit Sony Alpha" or "to fit Minolta AF" (sometimes abbreviated to MAF) in the description.
All these companies also made versions of the same lenses to fit Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and other SLRs, this is why we can not say "yes they will fit" without more information.

They are all AF and have the 5 little chip things.
In that case they should work OK, the only exception might be an older Sigma, some of them need the electronic chip upgrading in order to work on more recent cameras. They will physically fit on the camera but some of the fuinctions like AF may not work.
As far as I know this only applies to certain older Sigmas. Minolta, Tamron, Tokina and Vivitar should all work OK.
You say they have 5 connectors, in which case you will not get distance information from the lens for use by recent flash units.

I am fortunate enough to have the Sigma 400 f5.6 non macro/apo which works great on my 7d and A700 without being rechipped, so you may find a lens out there that may not need chipping....In that case they should work OK, the only exception might be an older Sigma, some of them need the electronic chip upgrading in order to work on more recent cameras.
