    ...

Phew, just got mine in time.
Thought I was gonna miss out this month, and it's quite possibly the only decent entry I've made so far!

Took it in Manchester in march/april of this year, it was hailstone and I got soaked.

There are some cracking entries, but my favourite has to be Ephemeral, the contrast of the warm indoors and the cold damp street, is brilliant.

Well, I've managed to get mine done in time. Interesting reading the comments above about people holding off until the end because the three strongest entries IMHO came in the first four submissions. In famous reverse order, in third spot I'd put AntSmith's shot, which I think could just have benefited from a tighter more frontal composition. I can't separate the top two. Hotblack's shot has all the impact you could wish for while FujiSigmaNolta's shot has the humour of juxtaposition which so often makes a great street photo. I'm keen to find out what Damien's thoughts are.

Tend to agree with Northern Nikon, but his (late entry) shot is quite tasty and will likely be in the frame. Suddenly in the past day or two entries have leaped from 35 to 50-odd.
Let's hope that Damien has managed to chew through the knots and make good his escape back to the UK to enable him to consider the entries for this and last month.

That's all very well but what does Ken Rockwell have to say on the matter?

I tend to agree, NorthernNikon's shot should be high on the list. Another one that stands out for me is PCP's Big Wheel.

    Nice image Pam.

Though it's quite respectable now, I used to work for Leeds Photo Visual back then, it was not just the architecture that was brutal it was the drunks and junkies that dossed in the service road.

I'm sure the wall is in York, near Monk Gate.

    Here's another regular view:

    Yes Clive it's in York.
This summer we visited York for the first time since I moved away in the 80,s and I was very pleased to see that they had repainted it.

Yes, Keith, we can't seem to get enough of York - we are back there in November. I think it must have been repainted since we last stayed in November last year. Great to see a photo of it - something I have never done, though we do use the nearby car park sometimes.

I know, with all the tory stunners just keeping out of shot I had to make do with 'others'

Is it just me, or have Bettina's and Scphoto's captions been mixed up???

Hey NN, thanks for the mentions - it's actually a good consoplation those months when you come nowhere near the shortlist to have been mentioned in 'the proceedings' !!

    Good luck all...
