Thanks for your concerns guys. It is type 2 Ron and, as far as I know, it's not as bad as type 1. I suppose getting older does not come without some parts failing and others wearing away.Sorry to hear that Bawbee, being rather partial to chocolate myself I can sympathise with you. Hopefully you'll be able to have the odd treat now and then though.I'm presuming type 2, Bob, as long as you are careful and occasionally give yourself a treat of Toblerone and reduce some other equivalent carbohydrate intake you should be OK.I've just been diagnosed as diabetic.
The doctor told me the day before we left on holiday and I was good for two whole weeks - truly.
I am supposed to have read up some info at Diabetes UK but I'll do it at the weekend. I have to have my eyes scanned on Monday morning and see the doctor in the afternoon - a whole day off work (expensive thing this diabetes).

but, yes type 1 for over 45 years, so more injections than 'Hot Dinners' scenario approx 48,000 so far and counting
