my Dimage z10 for a new ultracompact around $100-$150???

    Hello everyone.
I have no idea if is a good or a bad deal: if I sell my Dimage z10 for a new ultracompact (panasonic, canon)around $100-$150? There will be an improvement in the quality of my pictures?
    Thank you for your advices.

What kind of improvement after 3-4 years of super technology? Just more pixels? That's it?

I know nothing about any of the cameras you mention. What I do know is that if you are a poor photographer then no camera will make you a good one.

So, in the absence of other information (what do you mean by better for example?) I'd say hold on to your money and exploit the camera you have.

Bigger and brighter screens, less shutter lag, better battery life....lots of things have improved. I'm not sure more pixels has actually been a good thing as I think many sensors in compacts are overcrowded compromising other aspects of image quality (like dynamic range and noise). It's a topic that comes up quite frequently on this forum.
