Re: June 2008 - FirstView Comments

Dead chuffed - yesterday I bought a 20" LCD "crystal finish" HP monitor from Comet for £160. All the photos I see (my own and those on the we, eg Firstview site) look so amazingly bright and colourful now. I can even use PS elements 5 now, as it all fits on my new screen... been going back through some of my old shots and converting RAW files. thought I'd experiment with the Fuji RAW mode on the S9600 and compare the converted RAWs to the JPEGS..... there is quite a difference with the RAWs being much better (IMHO) if you have the time to shoot that way and convert them later. One big downside is the time taken for the camera to record the RAW image to CF card though ... in JPEG you can shoot again almost immediately, in RAW it seems like about 6 or 7 seconds is taken before the orange LED goes off and the camera will take the next photo. It's also a shame that it won't shoot RAW+JPEG, it's one or the other.
(however for £65, I'm not going to grumble too much)
Too many cameras, too many lenses.......

Oh dear! forgot all about it. Spent most of yesterday on the sofa, sniffling, coughing and sneezing and with ear ache and tooth ache. I've got an appointment with the dentist in an hour. Some-one shoot me! Please.... lisa.

I'm so glad you explained what that was Erm, I initially thought there you were eating away at your toast and then Wham! the booze from last night had caught up...

The Morning After The Night Before...

Erm, that's the best use of a Mac I've seen in a long time... a plate warmer. Beats a hostess trolley any day!

I thought it was something to do with babies - either baby food, or the result of baby food...

I put a picture of a cat on - some how after Erm's picture it seems appropriate.

Had a cat once that used to eat fresh salmon - don't laugh it was actually cheaper than cat food per 100g and it always got eaten. Occasionally she would throw it up but even then the cat found it irresistible and we never threw any away..

Personally I draw the line after cold curry at breakfast but even then only if I hadn't eaten it once already.
