    Bench-ubbster's Dog

Richard, I hope he gets better soon. I'm sorry but I can't help laughing as well. Dogs always look so damn funny with lampshades around their necks.
    Cheers

She had a pyometrial. So had an emergency operation as it can lead to septicaemia. She's also 14 in a couple of weeks, but she seems to be recovering well except for feeling sorry for herself and banging into things.

Oh well, that new lens will have to wait another month or two.

Strange thing, I've just tried to upload mine to the First View site but when I came to select an album, Feb 08 wasn't on the list. I can see Mick and Richard have uploaded theirs so I'm a little befuddled!

Re: February, 2008 - FirstView comments

Don't know if anyone else is having the same trouble I am, but the gallery site already seems to be broken - at least the new February 08 album doesn't appear in the drop-down list for me when I try to place my uploaded image in it. Perhaps that's why Mick had problems earlier.

Anyway, I've pm'd TFC about it but he doesn't seem to be about right now, or maybe he's up to his elbows, scrabbling about down in the works trying to fix the thing. :-)

Until it's sorted I suggest people either delay posting or upload to somewhere else, and we'll just have another marathon editing session to change the links when the site is working properly again. Apologies for the inconvenience. The best laid plans..., eh? :-(

Ah, you too? Yes - see my previous post. Hopefully TFC can fix it when he reappears. Sorry anyway - this really wasn't meant to happen. :-(

No problem Huw. I've linked the AP version from photobucket, so I'll upload the one to the gallery when it's ready.

This confirms what I've thought all along, TFC IS the hamster!

Re: February, 2008 - FirstView comments

I couldn't upload in Feb folder and accidentally added it to Jan. TFC moved it for me.

Edit. The other thing that tripped me up was that the URL of the image, as displayed in the address bar is not the same URL as displayed in 'properties' (right clicking on the image). When posted in the thread the 'properties' URL works but the 'address bar' one doesn't.

    It's fixed!!

Sorry guys, please accept my sincere apologies. I hang my head low in an act of contrition for the dishonour I have brought upon FirstView. I shall perform Yubitsume forthwith.

    So sorry.

Needless to say anyone who now wishes to upload their images please do so and PM me, I'll do the necessary edit at this end.

Thanks TFC. I've uploaded mine now, what "Edit" are you referring to?

Just sorting out the link in the picture thread so that it goes to the picture in the gallery site rather than wherever you uploaded the image to first of all. Looks like it has been done now.

I was dragged screaming from the comfort of my office to go and endure the bitter, sand-laden winds!

To think, I could have stayed indoors and pointed my camera at the TV anytime the news was on today and got a similar FV pic. The things we do for FirstView...

I got to Wisley about 45 minites before they closed entry (an hor before closing the gardens), so only had about 90 minutes to get to the Glass House and take some shots of the Orchids. Must go back again when there is more time, they are really amazing.

I really like your Wisley photo David. Great composition and lighting, and the mist/condensation gives it a really ethereal look.

Thank you, at A3 you can see the droplets of condensation on the glass.

Your one of the Whitgift Centre is pretty good too, nice and sharp. We lived in Selsdon for nearly 30 years, you probably know it well as you have photographed the Sanderstead Church. I still visit friends who live in Norfolk Avenue each week and we drop in at the Village Club mostly, do you know it?
