Taken at my mum's where we had gone for Xmas and New Year.
In the photo are my mum and her partner Steve on the left, plus my partner Tony on the right. We are tucking into New Year's dinner which my mum would usually make, similar to Xmas dinner, but this year I made it - Highland Beef Stew with a bit of haggis, buttered leeks and neeps & tatties. And a very big trifle... in fact its exactly the same meal as I had on the same day last year and used for FirstView 07, but I was in London and there were just the two of us.
Done in an extremely dark room at 17:01 on a Powershot S3 IS: auto WB, auto ISO, aperture priority 2.8

Taken after I had finished work(10pm) with a welcome, but quite unexpected Christmas gift of a Samsung D75. Haven't a clue what the settings were! (Still reading the instructions)

Times Square New York, Just as the ball had dropped at midnight. Waited here for 7 hours to bag this spot with about 1 million others. Those at the front had been there since 7am!

The gravel on the bottom left of pic is a path going down steps to the old railway so I don't have to walk past the cake shop(when it's open!)
