Re: Do You Rate Sigma Lenses?

My 100-300 f4 is wonderful and I wish I could find more occassions to use it. The 24-135mm f2.8-4 is too soft until about f4 so the extra weight and cost associated with the f2.8 bit is wasted but after f4 it is sharp, bright and produces decent images. It is second hand and needs a service though. I would certainly consider Sigma when looking to purchase another lens.

Haven't bought any Sigma gear myself but didn't rate a 170-500mm and the 120-300/2.8 seems a bit iffy on the AF front compared to (more expensive) Canon lenses...just a shame Canon don't have such a big zoom with f/2.8 However I would rather have the Sigma 120-300/2.8 than the Canon 100-400 L but can't think of another Sigma lens I would want over a similar lens from Canon.

    Sounds good to me. :-)

We do generally try to stop people posting questions on multiple boards, but that's basically because some people sign up here and then proceed to ask the same thing in half a dozen different places, which fills up the forums without actually being terribly helpful to anyone. But when it's the magazine staff looking for members' input or feedback I'd say that's rather different.
I answered it on the digi forum, I feel dirty...
