Which filter do I need for my Fuji finepix S9500?

I have been told to get either a skylight or UV filter for my fuji finepix S9500 camera but when I looked for one a few came up and one comment said that that filter did not work with the auto focus, Can anybody tell me what exactly I need for my camera to work along with the auto focus please?

First time I've heard that.

Some AF systems get confused by linear polarising filters, and all of them will not work with a filter which absorbs a very large amount of light.

Now I must say that I do not personally know the Fuji S9500, but if a skylight or UV filter (in usable condition) makes the autofocus fail to operate in conditions that it would otherwise succeed, I'll eat both of my hats.

All the same, I'd prefer a "digital protector" filter which does not affect light transmission in the way that a 1A, 1B or UV filter might. Though if you use your camera on auto white balance, I doubt whether you or anyone else will be able to tell if a skylight filter was used from inspection of the finished image.

I just use the basic Hoya UV, no problems that I am aware of.

The only thing that's ever upset the autofocus on my Fuji was a 3rd paty 2x tele converter.
