    Cokin A or Cokin P?

Thinking about buying some filters to have some fun with.
I am looking @ buying cokin gear but have had conflicting reports as to whether i can use A or P for my digital camera (EOS400D).
The official cokin website says you cannot use P for digital SLR only A, but most people say you can.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me.
    Thanks in advance.

I have had a look at www.warehouseexpress.com and if you look under photography/filters/cokin you will see that you can indeed use either.

The A or P refers to the lens diameter/focaL length. Quote:

    Cokin A Series Filters
Recommended for lenses between 36 and 62mm in diameter with a focal length over 35mm.

    Cokin P Series Filters
For shorter focal lengths 20-24 or 28mm as well as for wide angle zooms (24-50mm / 28-85mm / 35-135mm) the Cokin P System is strongly recommended.

Have a look at the Cokin site where it's all explained.

You could probably use A - but you will be at the top end of what they can do as regards size of the filter vs the size of the lenses. So I would go for the P range as they would cover everythng that the A's cover, but also will allow you to get lenses with a larger end on them without haing to re-buy all your filters again.

P.S. I don't ever remember seeing as many A type filters about - most shops carry P type so if you do decide to go with A's then you may have more problems getting the ones you want.
