Stunning! Only if a pit Viper gets you.

Nice pic though, the toungue shot makes it.

Actually I like snakes, we get quite a few garter snakes here, some grow to a decent size. One tried to pick a fight with my rider mower once and lost his head, literally. I didn't notice until the next pass.

I met a few rattlesnakes out in Arizona, you have to sneak up on them, they're really quite shy. Just don't step over rocks with out looking.

Oh I saw your viper shots except the one where it was latched onto your finger...!

Stayed on a suger plantation in Zululand a while back and they had a few snakes around. Mike the owners son used to make a quick grap at the tails and crack the snake like a whip, killing it.
One day he tried it on a young green snake and the thing bit him on the thumb....he said it was the worse pain he'd ever experienced. He grabbed his thumb tight with his other hand and held on until they got him to the ozzie.
Six months later the end of his thumb looked like a piece of well chewed gum.

Said he was sick for a while.

I like them all but the one with the tongue is also my fave

Reminds me of when I used to keep rats (though I'd keep them well shy of your snakes ) I suppose I should have taken more photos of them

Dont Rattlers heads continue to react to movement for up to 30 minutes after death? I saw it on a documentary and this guy lost his thumb because he was being stupid. A superb animal, but by christ are they dangerous I would never keep reptiles, myself, I think you need a certain level of dedication, and then theres those that keep the snakes and spiders for collecting venom That is dedicated!!

Makes my poor old corn snake feel look little and cute, here's a pic of her (it was originally the black and white one) that I've coloured in photoshop.

Don't want to take away from your "pets" and they make great subects/models for photography.

But:
I saw part of a yearly event from Arizona called "Rattlesnake roundup" One guy was showing his catch to the cameras then he tied up his sackfull again, threw the sack "over his shoulder" and walked off.
They said he made a full recovery.

Should have got a Darwin award!

Don't blame you, it's a red neck lowlife thingy.
Although someone said that they 'milk' the snakes for labs and release them..!
