    Zombies are us

Seems to me I'm overediting photos so I was looking at some old shots tonight and spotted this- taken on my S3000 compact but it's a shot I've always liked (it was one of those that persuaded me to dip my toes further into the water of photography) so I am going to put it up and say what would I need to do to improve it in PSE? Rather than just going for auto enhance (I did try it and it looked all wrong)

If you are remotely interested it's two girls who were part of the fancy dress competition for Alice Coopers Halloween 2010 show at the Chalk Farm Roundhouse

Sorting the levels by about 2 stops will help, but it is a phone-style party shot, whatever it was taken with, so is never going to be more than a memory / snap.

The large flickr version shows that it's really not sharp enough anywhere, and as Mike says, it's underexposed too. The latter could be dealt with easily enough in post-edit but I'm not sure about the former. It's the sort of shot that if it were in focus, might make an interesting record of an event as part of a set but on its own I'm not sure it's anything more than a passing snapshot.

I usually get told off for over sharpening images so I can work on that, It's part of a group of shots taken that night but okay yes it's a snapshot from a fun evening but I'd like to think it's at least a decent one

You won't save this with sharpening. Given the "cameraphone" look, the blur rather fits it I think.
