    Newcastle Metro Crossing

    Thanks for looking.

PS: odd thing I'm sure when I shot this the train was heading into the shot not leaving ie right to left not left to right.

But the image does not make sense for that. In fact the you can see from the white lights. So it must be the front of the train.

"Speed" shots of cars for advertising are usually taken with the car going backwards for exactly that reason. Works well for me.

    Nice one!

Looks like you were a bit close to the tracks for comfort, but it certainly makes a dramatic shot.

^ Yes the Metro cube needs to go, a couple of these crossings are in districts where I wouldn't want to be carrying expensive gear at night.

    Thanks for the feedback.

The Metro sign was left in on purpose. I wanted to show it was the Newcastle service and that is the logo.

The Newcastle line has several of these crossings going upto the airport branch. I found this one to be the best to get this shot.

Yep, you can get that close to the track. Surprising in this day and age of H&S.

They are similar to the DLR in London in that you can sit in the front and see where you are going.

And finaly it scored 8.5/10 at the judging. Did look good up on the big screen that night.
