Jessop 300AF-NI Flashgun
      #867375 - 05/02/2010 18:18

Hi All. Can anyone tell me the "trigger" voltage for the Jessops 300AF TTL Thyristor Flashgun? I wish to use it with a Nikon D80 but don't know if it will damage the circuits in the camera.

Not a pure answer to your question (as I don't have any experience with that model of flashgun), but here goes...

The flashgun is Nikon dedicated, as such it'll have a pretty low sync voltage (probably 6v or so). Anyway, the D80 can handle sync voltages of up to 250V (DC).

I believe that this flashgun is quite old and isn't iTTL compatible, if this is the case it'll only fire when set to manual mode (if it has one) and maybe only if the three smaller dedication contacts are isolated from the camera (so the camera thinks that no flashgun is attached).
