Where to buy used DSLRs?
      #866291 - 02/02/2010 20:25

Can anyone suggest good sites/other places (UK based) to buy used digital SLRs? Thanks.

There are several suppliers who regularly advertise in the back pages of AP. Most of them offer some sort of guarantee. Also, if you have a branch of London Camera Exchange, or other real camera shop (not J*ssops) nearby, they might be worth a look.

On Ebay the Canon Outlet sells "refurbished" cameras with a 12 month guarantee. FFordes are a long established store with a good reputation and they are starting to deal in second hand DSLRs, their web site may be worth a look.

Buying privately I would like to see and try the camera before parting with the cash.

I have bought a number of film cameras and old lenses from private individuals via Ebay and have had a reasonable level of success, but a nearly new DSLR would involve rather more money and hence be more of a risk. Not sure that I would do that.
