I'd get me 3,00 Flapjacks with an equal amount of Strawberry milkshake to wash them down!

One would hope that as a consequence of spending this amount on weighty gear, the retailer had the decency to 'throw in' a Truss for nowt!

Six grand to spend, hmm?
It'd have to be a Hasselblad of some sort with a selection of film backs, wide angle lenses, lots of accessories and some change to go places, see the world and take photos. Couldn't spend more than £2,000 on a digital camera (which I can comfortably say as my D700 was £1899!)

I'm happy with my F80, my Coolpix P1, and my D60 with 18-55mm, so I would buy the tele-zoom to go with it, a Hahnel battery grip, a Delkin rear screen shade, and the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. The remainder i would spend on an Orange amplifier for my Fender Strat

You've got £6,000 it has to be a Nikon grip at least

As others have hinted at...
I'd buy a cheap P&S (since I'm not good enough for a D3X) and use the rest on hookers and blow (prostitutes and cocaine if the joke doesn't translate properly)

nah, the d3x is a ripoff. it only has 24,3mp and it is generally worse than the d3. so, sixty big benjamins eh? i would go for a canon EOS 5ds or a 50D. telezoom lenses... gear harnesses... filters... tripods... huge flashes... *drools*

''only'' meaning that Nikon advertises the D3X as 24,5 mp.

Whats £6000
If i won the lottery: £1k on a decent vfm camera (D90, 40D, A700 replacement), £1k on decent glass, £1k on a holiday, £1k home improvement & £2k part exchanging car. Drop a D3X and what do you get ?. Unless you're a pro having such an expensive camera would raise the eye brows of the PC brigade, give it time and we'll all need camera licences.

I wasn't aware that Nikon was considered politically incorrect yet. (except amongst certain C***n users)

A hole in the ground.
Drop a D90 and I think you will find it is a different story.

No, that is what camera straps are for, they prevent you dropping your camera.

The one I had on my F5 didn't stop it slipping off my shoulder onto a hard tiled floor - giving the 28-200mm I was using at the time a big whack. Luckily no damage was caused ........... to the camera gear!

But, if the dropped camera is a Nikon, you'll probably acquire a broken neck.
